ZOLL TO FOCUS ON DELIVERING ONE-OF-A-KIND RESCUER EXPERIENCE AT EMS WORLD EXPO

September 15, 2015—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, will offer attendees the opportunity to experience the company’s expanded portfolio of advanced CPR and acute critical care technologies, along with its integrated data solutions, in booths #1010 and #1271 at EMS World Expo September 17-19 in Las Vegas.

Making its debut as part of the ZOLL family of products is the new ResQCPR™ System, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in March as the first and only CPR device indicated to improve the likelihood of survival in adults who have experienced non-traumatic sudden cardiac arrest. Also new is EMS Mobile Health, a solution for Mobile Integrated Healthcare/Community Paramedicine that is focused on patient care over time versus an event-based approach to patient care. Attendees will also be given a preview of Mobile Care Connect, an online system that enables facilities to schedule and manage transports online. This simplifies the entire scheduling process and eliminates much of the chaos involved with scheduling patient transports. Mobile Care Connect is expected to be available in October.

The one-of-a-kind rescuer experiences available from ZOLL at EMS World Expo include:

The ZOLL CPR Challenge Experience

Using the ZOLL X Series® Monitor/Defibrillator, show attendees will have a chance to test their CPR skills with and without the benefit of Real CPR Help®, ZOLL’s real-time CPR feedback technology. ZOLL’s RescueNet® CaseReview software will provide participants with a detailed analysis of their CPR performance. Twice a day, top scorers will be receive a Fitbit. ZOLL’s breakthrough CPR technologies, in conjunction with scenario-based training, have been shown to almost triple survival-to-hospital discharge with favorable neurological outcomes.1

The Patient Transport Experience

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience moving patients with ongoing CPR using the AutoPulse® Resuscitation System. Participants will maneuver a patient through a course of stairs and tight turns, while the AutoPulse performs continuous high-quality CPR. Designed for resuscitation on the move, a recent study showed that the AutoPulse had a significant survival benefit when resuscitation efforts lasted longer than 16 minutes.2 And in a meta-analysis of 12 comparative clinical trials, the AutoPulse improved the odds of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) by 62% compared when to manual CPR.3

The True-to-Life Experience with the ResQCPR System

For those interested in trying the new ResQCPR System, a true-to-life simulation experience is available. The two-device combination was shown in a large clinical trial to improve survival to one year from out-of-hospital, non-traumatic cardiac arrest by 49% when compared to treatment with conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).4

The Road Safety Driving Experience

Another highlight of the exhibit will give attendees a chance to experience how their driving behavior can be modified at the Road Safety® simulator. It is a driver feedback system that delivers proactive coaching for improving safety and reducing vehicle maintenance costs. Participants will respond to a simulated 911.

The RescueNet Experience

The ZOLL RescueNet Experience shows attendees the journey of patient data from dispatch through discharge. When EMS software solutions are truly integrated, critical incident and patient data follows the patient from dispatch all the way through to post-event billing saving EMS agencies both time and money.

The Ventilator Experience

With ZOLL’s EMV+® and AEV® Ventilators, participants will have a unique anatomical experience in being able to see firsthand how real lungs adapt to each ventilator mode. Both full-featured ventilator models are lightweight, rugged, and have a long battery life to accommodate the needs of EMS.

ZOLL Lunch and Learn: “EMS Systems of Care”

Tom Bouthillet, NRP, Fire Captain and Paramedic, Hilton Head Island, SC, discusses evidence-based treatment and systems of care for acute STEMI, stroke, cardiac arrest, sepsis, and shortness of breath. No stone will be left unturned as he discusses obtaining buy-in from stakeholders, developing multidisciplinary teams, operationalizing best practices, collecting data, providing feedback, and leveraging success to maintain momentum and create new opportunities. Registration fee is $10. Proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for International Emergency Medicine Education and Certification (F.I.E.R.C.E.). The session will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 12:30-1:45 p.m., in Room N246.
