ZOLL SHOWCASES SYSTEMS OF CARE PRODUCTS AT EMS TODAY 2019

February 19, 2019—CHELMSFORD, MASS.— ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, will offer EMS Today 2019 attendees the opportunity to experience the company's portfolio of advanced CPR and acute critical care technologies, along with its integrated data solutions, in booth 801 on February 20-22 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.

The products making up one-of-a-kind systems of care from ZOLL to be exhibited include:

Pediatric CPR on the X Series

ZOLL's X Series® is the only monitor/defibrillator on the market that offers pediatric CPR feedback. Recent studies have determined that the quality of CPR in children is poor, with compressions frequently too shallow.1 While many providers are often hesitant to compress to the appropriate depth in pediatric cardiac arrest because they feel they might "hurt" the patient, ZOLL's real-time pediatric CPR feedback arms providers with the information and confidence necessary to deliver high-quality CPR.

Resuscitation on the Move

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience moving simulated patients in cardiac arrest using the AutoPulse® Resuscitation System. Participants will experience how quickly the AutoPulse can be deployed using the Quick Case, which allows EMS providers to continue providing high-quality CPR while moving patients around tight corners and down steep stairs. Designed for Resuscitation on the Move™, a recent study showed that the AutoPulse had a significant survival benefit when compared to manual CPR when resuscitation efforts lasted longer than 16 minutes.2 In a meta-analysis of 12 comparative clinical trials, the AutoPulse improved the odds of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) by 62% when compared to manual CPR.3

IPR Therapy: ResQPOD ITD and ResQCPR System

Also on display will be ZOLL's intrathoracic pressure regulation (IPR) products: The ResQPOD® impedance threshold device (ITD) and the ResQCPR™ System. The ResQPOD ITD is a simple, non-invasive device used during basic or advanced life support CPR to improve perfusion. As an adjunct to high-quality CPR, the ResQPOD ITD can achieve high-perfusion CPR. The ResQCPR System, which utilizes active compression-decompression CPR (ACD-CPR) in combination with the ResQPOD ITD, improves blood flow even further and can increase the likelihood of survival from cardiac arrest.4,5 The two-device combination was shown in a large clinical trial to improve survival to one year from out-of-hospital, non-traumatic cardiac arrest by 49% when compared to treatment with conventional CPR.5

Respiratory Care with the New Z Vent

ZOLL's new Z Vent™ transport ventilator for pre- and inter-hospital use delivers a full range of ventilation options and is easy to use. Z Vent removes the complexity associated with many portable ventilators, as Smart Help™ technology provides on-screen prompts to quickly guide users through alarm resolution. Designed with a simple Touch, Turn and Confirm interface, Z Vent makes changing settings quick and intuitive.

ZOLL's Expanding Data Solutions

The Payor Logic™ accounts receivable software solution, which ZOLL recently acquired, will be featured in the booth. This technology allows EMS agencies to capture more revenue per billed claim, process claims faster, and focus on processes with the greatest return on investment. The billing-efficiency service is part of ZOLL's Billing Pro solution and can also be purchased as a standalone service.

ZOLL ePCR and ZOLL Billing are new cloud-based solutions that work together to give a seamless documentation and billing solution without the need for heavy IT resources. Also new is ZOLL Respond, an IOS/Android mobile navigation and communication app that offers EMS dispatchers, crews, and clinical staff at receiving facilities communication options, such as live chat, push-to-talk, and live streaming video. Respond simplifies the dispatch communication process and eliminates the need for expensive hardware by utilizing mobile app technology.

Overall, the ZOLL RescueNet® Experience shows attendees the journey of patient data from dispatch through discharge. When EMS software solutions are truly integrated, critical incident and patient data follow the patient from dispatch all the way through to post-event billing, saving EMS agencies both time and money.
