A Hockey Game Unlike Any Other

Saginaw, Michigan—In the Shocks and Saves Charity Event, former Detroit Red Wings players compete against doctors, EMTs, and other health care professionals to raise funds for CPR training and to place AEDs throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.

A Hockey Game Unlike Any Other

In the 12 years since ZOLL® has been a sponsor, Shocks and Saves has placed 255 ZOLL AED Plus® units into the community and 11 lives have been saved!

ZOLL supports Shocks and Saves in conjunction with the Pulse 3 Foundation, former Red Wings defenseman Jiri Fischer, and Mobile Medical Response Ambulance. All parties have been touched by sudden cardiac arrest in one way or another and have come together to help save more lives.

Fischer, who spoke at this year’s event, suffered sudden cardiac arrest on the bench during an NHL game in 2005. As a result, the NHL changed its protocol and now has doctors sit on the bench in case of an emergency.
