Helping Hospitals Meet the New Joint Commission Resuscitation Standards

Survival rates from in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) varies. To address this, The Joint Commission continues to revise resuscitation standards that minimize the differences in treatment across hospitals and encourage practices shown to positively impact resuscitation and post-resuscitation care.

New requirements, effective January 1, 2022, include performance improvement standards on how hospitals collect, compile, and analyze resuscitation data to monitor performance.
